5 top bars in London in The World's 50 Best Bars 2023 ranking including the Connaught and Satan's Whiskers

A number of London bars have been named as some of the best in the world this week. The World's 50 Best Bars 2023 ranking has listed a few spots in the capital as part of its global top list.

The World's 50 Best Bars ranking is an annual list that highlights where the top places to drink are worldwide. The 2023 ranking was released on Tuesday (October 17).

In total, five London spots were named in the World's 50 Best Bars, and two made the top ten.

As the city is home to a vast array of bars, deciding where to head on a night out can be a tough choice for both Londoners and visitors.

Barcelona's Sips picked up the top spot in the World's 50 Best Bars 2023 list, but we break down the London entries.

Connaught Bar, Mayfair

The top rated London venue placed fifth in the World's 50 Best Bars 2023. The Connaught is in the heart of Mayfair and has built a reputation for its speciality Martini's.

Tayēr + Elementary made the annual list's top ten, bagging the number eight spot. Highlighting the talent of its bartenders with bespoke bar stations, guests get a first row seat for the making of their drinks.

A Bar with Shapes for a Name, which uses colourful shapes to illustrate its name, was at 35 on the World's 50 Best Bars 2023 list. Echoing functionalism and minimalism, the spot has an intentionally limited bar featuring just 20 bottles of spirits, which all its drinks are made from.
