Watch: A look at the 2024 Chelsea in Bloom floral displays
Chelsea’s streets have been taken over by an array of colourful floral installations.
Many of Chelsea’s shop storefronts have been transformed with buds and blossoms this week as part of the 2024 Chelsea In Bloom festivities.
The annual floral themed art show sees several Chelsea establishments fill their shop windows and surrounding pavements with eye capturing bloom displays.
This year’s theme is Floral Feasts, meant to celebrate how Chelsea is famous for its food and botanical heritage.
The floral displays are judged by a panel of experts, and the winners were announced on Tuesday (May 21). Seven establishments, including the hotel 11 Cadogan Gardens, clothes store Poetry, and stationery and leather goods store Smythson, won gold in the judges’ awards.
Members of the public can also vote online for the People’s Champion Award, which closes at midnight tonight (May 23).
As well as shop displays, there are also central floral displays, depicting themes such as “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Willy Wonka’s Chocolate World”.
While visitors can explore the Chelsea In Bloom festivities at their own pace, rickshaw rides and walking tours can be booked at the Greengrocers Information Point on Sloane Square.
Chelsea in Bloom runs until May 26.
