King’s Cross has come out on top as the worst train station for morning commuter delays in London according to new research.

A new study has revealed King’s Cross is the most unreliable London rail station for commuters travelling into the capital in the morning.

Digital marketing and PR agency Tank analysed 660 routes and 50 stations using data from the last six months to uncover the best and worst journeys for morning commuters across the UK.

King’s Cross came out as the worst for morning delays with 26% of its early arrivals reported to be over five minutes late.

The data showed morning commuters had to wait on average just over 4 minutes for delays at the station.

In particular the study revealed delays got progressively worse at King’s Cross throughout the morning, starting with waits around 3.53 minutes between 6am-6:59am, to almost five minutes by 9am-9:59am.

Blackfriars was the second worst for morning delays with an average delay time of just under 4 minutes followed by King’s Cross’ neighbour St Pancras International with morning delays of around 3 and half minutes.

London Paddington and Euston round up the top 5 with Paddington reported to have a total of 5% of morning services cancelled compared to Euston’s 4%.
