TfL Tube strikes March 2026: Will the Elizabeth Line still be running?
Major disruptions are expected across London's underground network next week as Tube workers strike - but will it affect the Elizabeth line?
The entire London Underground network is set to be brought to a standstill next week due to mass walkouts over the introduction of a compressed four-day working week.
Tube union RMT confirmed members would go on strike last week (March 10) as it claimed
Transport For London (TfL) intends to push ahead with plans to compress a normal working week into four days despite backlash from train operators.
RMT explained: “Members have concerns about shift lengths, unacceptable working time arrangements, transfer and allocation processes, and the potential impact on fatigue and safety.”
During the strike action Tube services are expected to be severely disrupted with very few set to run at all on the days when drivers strike.
But will the Elizabeth Line be affected? Here’s everything London commuters need to know.
Will the Elizabeth Line be running during the March 2026 Tube strikes?
Yes. At this time no strikes are currently planned for the Elizabeth line, London Overground and trams.
However they’re likely to be extremely busy during the Tube strikes as commuters rely on them for their journeys instead.
The Elizabeth line is considered to be separate from the London Underground. While it does have underground sections, TfL refers to it as a rail line rather than a part of the Tube network.
