Woodman left a goalkeeping coaching role at Arsenal to take up the post at Bromley but previously worked at Newcastle United. He has also had time at Crystal Palace, West Ham and Charlton Athletic.

The coach was part of the Newcastle United set-up that finished fifth in the Premier League in 2012 and secured European football. He told National World TV: “I don’t think I could ever say enough (positive things about Newcastle) really. It was a brilliant experience. I know it was a difficult time for the football club, with other issues that we’re going on, but I’ve been on record saying that, Alan Pardew, what he did under the circumstances, with myself, John Carver, getting into Europe… (was unbelievable).”
