West Ham and Everton will face off at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon

West Ham United host Sean Dyche’s Everton this weekend as they look to bounce back after a 3-0 defeat to high-flyers Nottingham Forest. Goals from Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina handed Julen Lopetegui’s side their second defeat in three games.

They face an Everton side who lost last time out to Southampton but prior to this weekend had been unbeaten in five Premier League games. West Ham will be hoping to make the most of an easier fixture against Everton as they face tough games against Newcastle and Arsenal in their next two.

The Hammers have reason to be optimistic, however, as they have one of the fittest squads in the Premier League while several rival teams continue to struggle with injury concerns.

West Ham injury news

The only casualty in West Ham’s team is summer signing Niclas Fullkrug, who has made just four appearances in all competitions so far this season. The striker’s most recent game came against Manchester City at the end of August, when the Hammers lost 3-1 following an Erling Haaland hat-trick. He is yet to score for the Hammers.

Fullkrug has been dealing with a calf issue which Julen Lopetegui commented on at the end of October, he said: “Fullkrug is not ready to play, he is working on his recovery. We do not have a date for his recovery. He's out, definitely.”

Everton injury news

The Toffees have more injury issues as they have four players that will miss the weekend. Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam will miss the game with an ankle bone injury which will keep the 21-year-old out until December. He is yet to return to training and remains in a walking boot.

Furthermore, midfielder James Garner also remains out for an extended period of time whilst he recovers from a back injury. Sean Dyche said: “Jimmy has got a longer-term injury. We're going to have to wait and see, but it's going to be weeks. It's a bad injury that we've got to be careful with.” He likely won’t return until mid-December.

Attacker Youssef Chermiti is also absent from the Everton team as he is dealing with a toe injury that he suffered in the summer. He is getting close to a return however as Dyche expects the Portuguese striker to return after the November international break against Brentford.

New signing Armando Broja is also out for this weekend’s game as he is suffering from a calf issue. He remains out of training and is working with the sports science team at Goodison Park. Broja will be on a similar timeline to Chermiti and could return after the break against Brentford.

The only doubt for Saturday’s game at the London Stadium is midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure who is dealing with a minor injury and is more likely to return than not against West Ham on Saturday. Sean Dyche said: “Doucs has an injury, but we don’t think it is too serious. He tried it this week, but it’s just too sore, and he couldn’t make it.”
