West Ham have the opportunity to bolster their squad next month. They also have the chance to offload some players to free up space and funds.

David Moyes’ side are currently 16th in the Premier League table. Here is a look ahead to the January transfer window...

West Ham have been linked with a host of right-backs over recent times. The Daily Mail claim they have lodged an enquiry about the availability of former Chelsea man Ola Aina at Torino, whilst Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Celtic’s Josip Juranovic and Middlesbrough’s Isaiah Jones are apparently on the radar according to the Evening Standard, 90min and GiveMeSport respectively. On the other side of defence, Jeunes Footeux have said Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro is also being eyed.

The London club have already brought in centre-back Luizao from Sao Paulo but are said to be interested in Everton’s Michael Keane, as detailed in a report by The Athletic, whilst Firenzeviola claim they like Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic after he caught the eye at the World Cup with Serbia.

Midfield reinforcements may be on Moyes’ wishlist this winter too and a whole host of players have been mentioned. Torino’s Sasa Lukic is said to be wanted according to Tuttosport, Angers’ Azzedine Ounahi via talkSPORT, FC Lorient’s Enzo Le Fee via 90min and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow courtesy of Sport 1.

Further up the pitch, West Ham are no strangers to delving into the Championship for talent and have enjoyed success with Jarrod Bowen since snapping him up from Hull City in 2020. Reporter Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that the Hammers are in a ‘good position’ to sign Blackburn Rovers attacker Ben Brereton Diaz, whilst Football League World suggest they admire Coventry City hotshot Viktor Gyokeres.

If they decide to go down the overseas route, Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri is apparently being watched according to the Daily Mail, with Le Cronache also saying the same about Salternitana striker Boulaye Dia.

Outgoings?

The Athletic report that Craig Dawson could emerge back on the radar of Wolves with his contract up at the end of the season. The same source suggests that West Ham will listen to offers for Conor Coventry, Jamal Baptiste and Pierre Ekwah Elimby (loans for the latter two), whilst right-back Harrison Ashby is no closer to penning a new deal amid links to Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, full-back Vladimir Coufal has been linked with Bayer Leverkusen via Sky reporter Marlon Irlbacher on Twitter, whilst TuttoSport say Torino want Nikola Vlasic permanently. Next month may also be the end for Manuel Lanzini with Football Insider reporting that will be made available.

Speculation surrounding Declan Rice will no doubt arise again but the Hammers will be desperate to keep hold of him until the end of this campaign at least. He is under contract until June 2024.
