West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal has reportedly had discussions with Bayer Leverkusen. The right-back is being linked with a move away from the London Stadium.

According to Sky reporter Marlon Irlbacher on Twitter, he has held ‘positive’ talks with the German outfit. They are now managed by former Premier League midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Coufal, 30, has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers this season, nine of which have come in the Premier League. His contract with the Premier League outfit expires in June next year but the club hold an option to extend his stay.

West Ham swooped to sign the full-back in 2020 and he adapted well to life in England after joining from Sparta Prague. He has since played 87 games altogether but his long-term future is up in the air.

Prior to his switch to David Moyes’ side, he also had spells at FC Hlučín, SFC Opava and FC Slovan Liberec. He has made 32 caps for the Czech Republic international team as well.

Bayer Leverkusen have been mentioned as his potential next destination and they are currently 12th in the Bundesliga, seven points off the European places. Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is on loan there from Stamford Bridge.
