'A serious situation' - verdict given on £36m West Ham star's suspension fears
West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus was sent off during the Hammers’ 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago. He was initially given a yellow card for pushing Micky van de Ven, but VAR overruled it to be a red card.
Kudus was then hit with another charge by the FA for swiping at Pape Sarr’s face during a melee that occurred following his initial foul on Van de Ven. Kudus hasn’t yet been hit with an extended ban by the FA, but could face two bans, one for each incident.

However, according to former Everton CEO Keith Wyness, he believes that it is unlikely he will face such an extended ban. He told Football Insider: “I don’t think a six-game ban is likely at all. I think Mike Dean has got the wrong end of it. I know it was a serious situation, but it’ll come to three or four games maximum.
“Kudus lost his temper, it happens in the heat of a game. There was no serious injuries so we’ve got to look at it in that light.”
Mohammed Kudus could be a big loss for West Ham
If the winger was to miss time, it could be a big loss for Julian Lopetegui as he is one of the most valuable players at the London Stadium due to his pace and strength on the wing.

Last weekend, due to Kudus’ suspension, Julian Lopetegui brought in Paris Saint-Germain loanee Carlos Soler who was substituted off for former Leeds man Crysencio Summerville who West Ham signed over the summer. He could be in line to start in West Ham’s game at the weekend against Nottingham Forest.
