It was light work in the end for West Ham as they appeared to breeze past SC Freiburg 5-0. Brazilian star Lucas Paqueta picked up the first goal before Jarrod Bowen, Aaron Cresswell and a brace from Kudos was added to the score-card and the Bundesliga side were left in tatters.

To mark his 250th game in charge of West Ham, David Moyes was able to celebrate taking his side to yet another European quarter-finals and they will soon find out their fate as the UEFA draw takes place in Switzerland today from 11am.

Speaking after the win, Moyes said of his team's achievements: "The club has moved on so much in the last few years. Avoiding relegation, making Europe, getting there a second year, winning a trophy and now a quarter-final. It is a brilliant achievement."

Joining the Hammers in the draw are fellow English side Liverpool as well as AC Milan, Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Marseille and Roma. Despite a 1-0 win over the Italian side, Brighton could not do enough to overturn the 4-0 defeat they suffered the week before.

Following West Ham's mighty London triumph, however, the SC Freiburg boss offered a bitter response to his team's efforts, suggesting that the score-line far from reflected the actions on the pitch. Speaking on the official website, Freiburg boss Christian Streich said: "I didn't feel like West Ham played us off the park over the 90 minutes. We were a bit awkward on the ball, and they showed their immense individual quality. Therefore, the final score unfortunately got away from us."

This appears a fairly bizarre take given the goal-scoring display on show. Freiburg had ten shots with three on target compared to the Irons eleven shots and seven on target. The German side did enjoy more of the possession but were evidently able to do little with this and enjoyed only one corner compared to West Ham's six.

The next round of the Europa League takes place on Thursday 11 and 18 April. The semi-finals will then be held on Thursday 2 and 9 May before the big finale in the Dublin Arena on Wednesday 22 May.
