West Ham have slipped down to ninth place in the Premier League following the recent 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Last week, fans walked out of the London Stadium as Arsenal flew to a 6-0 triumph and this week saw further calls for David Moyes' removal as the Irons registered their third successive defeat.

Elsewhere in Europe, there were similar cries for removal with Bayern Munich succumbing to yet another defeat with CfL Bochum triumphing 3-2 over the Bundesliga giants. This second successive defeat now means Thomas Tuchel's side sit eight points behind league leaders Bayern Leverkusen with hope of another league trophy dwindling.

However, according to reports from Sky Sports Germany, the ex-Chelsea boss is not set to be dismissed and has no intention of resigning from his role. It would take a huge change in events for Bayern to catch up with Xabi Alonso's squad in first place but the Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has said: "I feel rubbish. I don't believe in big statements about the coach. This issue isn't on our mind at the moment."

If Tuchel were to be removed of his duties, however, he would not be short of suitors with West Ham being the latest side to register their interest in the former Chelsea man. Barcelona and Liverpool are two clubs set to be without managers at the end of the 2023/24 season with Xavi Alonso and Jurgen Klopp making their respective departures but the Irons are now the latest side who could hope to lure the 50-year-old tactical innovator back to the Premier League.

According to HITC, the Hammers are 'unconvinced' about extending Moyes' current contract which expires at the end of the season with the club actively looking for potential replacements. West Ham's technical director Tim Steidten is supposedly particularly keen to bring in Tuchel after he was due to work with him at Chelsea before the latter was sacked.

Known for his tactical knowledge and flexibility, Tuchel began his coaching career at FC Augsburg II before moving to Mainz 05. He has since managed Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea as well as his most recent post with the Bundesliga giants and has secured all manner of honours including two Ligue 1 titles; one Bundesliga title; a DFB-Pokal trophy; a UEFA Champions League trophy; UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
