Roma are looking to get former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham off their wage bill this summer and Spurs and West Ham are linked.

West Ham have thrown their hat in the ring for former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, with Tottenham also linked to the player who is available for £20million according to the Daily Mail.

Jose Mourinho took Abraham to Roma in 2021, where he excelled, scoring 26 goals and helping the club win the UEFA Europa Conference League in his first season in Italy. However, he was injured for much of his second season, managing only eight starts. With Mourinho replaced by Daniele De Rossi, Roma are looking to take a different direction.

The English striker said after moving to Italy: “Mourinho played a huge role in me deciding to come here and this is the best decision of my life. This is a historic team with a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve their dreams this season.”

Abraham is understood to be available for around £20 million as Roma look to offload the former Chelsea star following an injury-hit season. West Ham are looking to replace Michail Antonio in the long term and view Abraham as an ideal replacement, given his Premier League experience and European pedigree.

Tottenham have also not adequately replaced Harry Kane and have the English striker on their radar, with other European clubs also interested.

Spurs have already made moves in the transfer window, signing Timo Werner on loan, and releasing Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic, and Japhet Tanganga to create space on the wage bill.

They aim to strengthen the team, which will now have Europa League football added to their schedule. They are also looking to add another midfielder and defender for depth.
