Leeds United set to seal double Tottenham swoop as talks continue for summer rebuild

Leeds United are among a number of clubs looking to lure Oliver Skipp this summer and have opened talks with Tottenham, according to The Athletic.

The midfielder will be seeking more game time, having started only 11 games last season. Spurs are considering other midfielders, meaning Skipp might fall further down the pecking order next season. At 23, he wants to be playing regular football, and a move to a club fighting for Premier League promotion wouldn't be a bad call.

During the 2020/2021 season, the English midfielder impressed massively while on loan at Norwich, starting 44 league games as they gained Premier League promotion. A return to the Championship might be on the cards this summer. Ironically, Skipp played under Leeds manager Daniel Farke, and they have stayed in touch since.

Leeds are also in talks to sign Tottenham’s Joe Rodon, the most valuable loanee at the club last season. Rodon had a contract extension at Spurs, but that was only done to protect the club’s interest, and an outright sale has not been ruled out, sources have said. Leeds United boss Farke is looking to do business early and wants the defender to be part of his squad next season, LondonWorld has been exclusively told.

Tottenham facing a busy summer

Spurs finished fifth, a disappointing spot for a team that had won eight of their first 10 games of the season. But overall, it was a good campaign, and a return to the Europa League means they will have to strengthen.

They have already confirmed the signing of Timo Werner for another season, but LondonWorld has been told they are eyeing another forward, two midfielders if Pierre-Emile Højbjerg leaves the club, and a defender for cover.
