West Ham expected XI: Two changes and a bold defensive call made against Lyon

West Ham manager David Moyes will have to make changes to his team against Lyon tonight.

West Ham will continue their European fairytale when they welcome struggling French giants Lyon to the London Stadium.

The Hammers put up a spirited performance, backed by a packed house at the London Stadium, to seal progression to the quarter final stage of this season’s Europa League against five-time winners Sevilla.

Lyon are struggling in their domestic league, but two seasons ago they were competing in the Champions League and have experience and pedigree in the Europe compared to West Ham, who are new to this level.

The Hammers prepared for this game with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Everton in the league while Lyon beat Angers 3-2, so both teams got vital wins and will be pumped up for this one.

Indeed West Ham are still in with a chance to finish in the top four, but they will need to win almost every game in the league or win the Europa League if they are to swap playing on Thursday to playing on Wednesday night.

There is also the exciting prospect of welcoming the mighty Barcelona to the London Stadium if they can get past Lyon, something that will delight the Irons fans.

Manager David Moyes though has been boosted by some positive injury news, with young but promising right back Ben Johnson, who missed the Everton win due to a hamstring issue, back in training.

Jarrod Bowen - who also missed the entertaining win against Sevilla - is also back and announced his return with a winning goal against Everton, so everything is pointing to an interesting line up.

With every game at this stage of the season being very important, here is how we think David Moyes will line-up this evening.
