The January transfer window has only just concluded and already West Ham are on the hunt for their summer targets. The Hammers brought in Kalvin Phillips has their only new arrival, bidding temporary farewells to the likes of Said Benrahma and Thilo Kehrer.

Fans had been divided over the lack on incoming talent to the London Stadium with many arguing it is the reason for their current dip in form which has seen them draw three and lose one of their last five fixtures. Others, however, believe that the little action will aid David Moyes' side in the longer term as they have sit in a better financial position. The Hammers will gain £428,000 in loan fees from Kehrer's move to Monaco and £5.1 million from Benrahma's switch to Lyon. Of course, the majority of what they will make will go towards Phillips' £130,000 per-week wage as well as the £2.4 million loan fee, but there is still plenty of room for future options.

With this in mind, Moyes has already made his summer ambitions clear and is desperately in need of bolstering his front-line. According to Tutto Juve, the Hammers have already made contact with Genoa to sign their 26-year-old star Albert Gudmundsson. Moyes tried to bring the Icelandic international to London this January but failed to complete any deal ahead of February 1st's deadline but this has not deterred the Scot from trying once again.

Gudmundsson, who has 35 caps for his country, has been on flying form for the Serie A side and has scored eleven goals as well as provide three assists in his 23 games so far. The 26-year-old is able to play anywhere along the front-line and enjoys a phenomenal pace around the pitch.

In January, Calcio Mercato claimed that Genoa would ask for around £22 million for their Icelandic star which does not seem out of reach for a side who underwent a particularly quiet winter transfer window.
