West Ham could be set for a summer reunion with Scott McTominay as Manchester United are reportedly hoping the London Stadium will reignite their interest as Old Trafford look to free up funds.

According to reports from iNews, the club are keen to raise cash to fund their own transfer hopes with the Scotland star a potential casualty of the planned summer exodus. New investor, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is expected to want to secure around £100 million this summer transfer window as Old Trafford prepare to bid farewell to several figures such as McTominay, Casemiro and Raphael Varane.

Another is Mason Greenwood, whose current loan club Gatafe could look to buy while the former England midfielder has also reportedly seen interest from the Saudi Pro League.

However, Old Trafford supposedly see McTominay as a player who is "replaceable" and Erik ten Hag's side are hopeful that David Moyes could make another move for him after having a bid rejected last year. Last August, the Athletic reported that the Red Devils had rejected a £30 million for the Lancaster-born Scottish star as the Hammers hoped to secure the services of both McTominay and English defender Harry Maguire.

It is currently unknown how much Manchester United would be willing to sell the Scottish international for but TransferMarkt sees his current market value at around £25 million. In 2022, he was previously estimated to be worth £58m according to CIES Football Observatory Weekly.

The 27-year-old midfielder has spent his entire career with the Red Devils, having made 169 Premier League appearances for them. This season, however, he has been in and out of favour, despite scoring plenty of goals. He has never been a regular in the midfield role this 2023/24 campaign, but still has seven goals in the 25 league appearances for the club.

McTominay also has 47 international caps to his name, scoring eight goals for Scotland - seven of these goals came in the recent Euros 2024 qualification competition. The 27-year-old's achievements have seen him nominated as one of the finalists for the William Hill Men's international Player by the Scottish Football Writers.
