Declan Rice is facing an uncertain long-term future at West Ham ahead of the next transfer window. His current focus will be on helping his side win the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina in Prague next week.

His contract at the London Stadium expires in the summer of 2024 meaning he only has 12 months left on his deal. The Hammers risk losing him for nothing next year if they don’t cash in on him soon, assuming he doesn’t put pen-to-paper on an extension.

In this latest update by the Daily Mail, Rice will ‘prioritise’ a move to the Premier League next amid interest from Bayern Munich. The player reportedly wants to stay in England, with Manchester United also mentioned as a potential alternative suitor.

The 24-year-old, who is an England international with 41 caps under his belt so far in his career, was on the books at Chelsea as a youngster before switching to West Ham in 2014. He has since risen up through the academy ranks of the Hammers and was a regular for them at various youth levels before making the step up into the first-team.

He was handed his senior debut in 2017 in a league fixture against Burnley and hasn’t looked back since. The Londoner has since established himself as David Moyes’ most prized asset and has made 244 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with 15 goals to date.

There is an air of inevitability that he will be moving on for a new chapter at the end of this campaign. It would be hard for West Ham to step in the way of him playing in the Champions League and they will no doubt receive big money for his signature from whoever lands him which can be put towards a suitable replacement.
