'Close' - West Ham to follow £25m Leeds United coup with £40m double transfer

West Ham United appear to be on the verge of a flurry of transfer business with the start of the Premier League season just over two weeks away.
It's an important summer at the London Stadium as Julen Lopetegui takes over from David Moyes and begins to build a squad fit to play in his style. The Spaniard has already recruited Max Kilman for a lofty £40 million from his former club Wolves with Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham also putting pen to paper with the Hammers.

It is widely reported that West Ham have now reached an agreement with Leeds United and Crysencio Summerville to bring last season's Championship Player of the Year to the London Stadium for £25 million. That is a marquee signing for the side, beating the likes of Everton, Fulham and Liverpool to the player's signature.
That move has already been given the 'here we go' treatment by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, meaning imminent confirmation is expected, and West Ham are already rumoured to have two more transfers progressing fast.
The club has been linked with a move for Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka for several weeks this summer. It had been thought that the defender rejected a move to the London Stadium but that move is now back on.

Meeting Wan-Bissaka's wage demands could still prove problematic, but that transfer fee is already £5 million lower than the price first touted for the player.
West Ham had been targeting Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui in the right-back position, with Ben Johnson having left as a free agent and Vladimir Coufal coming to the end of his deal, but it is the Red Devils who have reached a deal with the German giants - however Erik ten Hag's side reportedly need to cash-in on Wan-Bissaka before completing that paperwork.

The second transfer gathering pace for West Ham is for winger Baris Yilmaz from Galatasaray. The 24-year-old impressed for Turkey at Euro 2024 and Turkish outlet Fotospor reports that the London outfit has met with representatives ahead of a possible £30 million move.
Yilman registered seven goals and 12 assists for Galatasaray last term and has also been linked with Liverpool.
