When I moved to London a few years ago, my dream was to become the greatest football writer to have come from Africa.

I have always seen black players at the highest level but not a lot of black football writers telling their stories.

I felt that the narratives were not as detailed and did not reflect their journeys.

I knew instantly the place to be was the beautiful city of London, the very place Didier Drogba created his empire and Michael Essien became a household name.

Before that was the likes of Nwankwo Kanu, Ian Wright and Sol Campbell who lit up the Premier League in ways that inspired my continent.

I’m delighted to cover football for LondonWorld, and reflect in journalism what these greats have achieved on the pitch.
