Watford will reportedly have to see off competition from Valencia, Bologna and Flamengo if they are to win the race for Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri’s signature. The youngster was at the World Cup with the Uruguay squad.
According to reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (see below), United have ‘scheduled’ a new round of talks with the player’s agent to determine what to do with him. He doesn’t appear to be short of interest from clubs keen to take him until the end of the season.

The Sun have reported that Watford want to land him before the end of the window. The Hornets are currently eyeing promotion back to the Premier League and could see him as someone to inject more quality into their attacking department.
Pellistri, 21, has been on the books at Old Trafford since 2020 after they snapped him up from Penarol. However, he has struggled to break into their first-team and only made his debut earlier this month in their Carabao Cup win over Charlton Athletic. He has had spells at Alaves over recent seasons to gain experience.

In other news, Watford winger Joseph Hungbo has been given the green light to join Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the campaign. He spent time with Ross County up in Scotland last term.
