Tottenham weighing up £49.5m deal for attacker Jamie Redknapp says is an 'absolute star'

Tottenham are said to have added another attacker to their list of summer targets as they confront a clear need for more quality and depth. It has been a disastrous season for Spurs, who find themselves stuck in the bottom half and with only one remaining route to European football for next season - the Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou has come under intense scrutiny, but it’s only now that he will be properly judged due to the return of a number of players from injury. The Australian is going to need to show people what he can do with a close to full squad and deliver results if he wants to remain at the club next season.

Dominic Solanke’s injury issues have shown a need for more depth at the top end of the pitch, in particular, while Timo Werner is not likely to be kept beyond this season.
One player Spurs are reportedly considering turning to is AFC Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo, who The 25-year-old has scored nine and assisted five so far this season, playing a central role in what has been an impressive season for the Cherries under Andoni Iraola.
Fichajes say Tottenham are eyeing Semenyo, and they already know it will cost £49.5million, with the winger under contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2029. Speaking late last year, Semenyo put his recent success down to a new, freedom-based approach.
“It’s continuing working hard, enjoying the game, just playing with no pressure,” he said. “I feel like just being easy on the pitch, like, having that freedom is what’s given me my success right now so just need to continue playing with no pressure really just continue to enjoy the game, have fun with the ball and try to rack up as many goals as I can.”
