Both Newcastle United and Tottenham have players working hard to get back to full fitness ahead of the weekend’s game.

Tottenham are bruised after the defeat to Manchester United, only their second defeat of the campaign but the feeble nature of the performance has made the game against Newcastle a must win.

Eddie Howe’s side however come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Everton and have been impressive.

Spurs are sweating over the fitness of Dejan Kulusevski, and to be fair they have not been the same since he picked up a thigh injury on international duty last month.

Richarlison is definitely out with a calf problem and won’t be involved, even though Lucas Moura was again involved as he works his way back to full fitness.

There were also minutes for Oliver Skipp who is filling his way back to complete fitness so it’s not all doom and gloom for the Lillywhites.

They also can call on Emerson Royal who is available after serving the last of his three games for his sending off against Arsenal.

Newcastle United have major injury issues though with two of their big hitters ruled out, Alexander Isak and Allan Saint-Maximin, have suffered setbacks in their respective recoveries.

Isak especially is not expected to be back until after the World Cup while Allan Maximin is being monitored by the day.

They also have Matt Ritchie (calf), Karl Darlow (knee) and Emil Krafth (knee) sidelined.

Tottenham manager did not turn to Clement Lenglet in the defeat to United, so there it is likely that he would get the nod this weekend, especially after the Ben Davies deflection that led to the first goal.
