Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini says the injury to captain Hugo Lloris has left everyone sad at the club but believes Fraser Forster is ready to step up.

Hugo was ruled out for six weeks after picking up a knee injury in their 1-0 win over Manchester City at the weekend. In his absence Spurs will call on Forster who joined the club in the summer and has only played one Premier League game so far.

There are unconfirmed reports that the club could sign free agent Ben Foster to act as number two until the 2018 World Cup winner returns to full fitness.

The Lilywhites travel to the King Power at the back of an important win against the Champions at a time even their manager Antonio Conte was away in Italy recovering from an operation to remove his gallbladder.

Stellini who was on the touch line over the weekend, deputising for Conte gave the general feel of how everyone at the club felt about losing Hugo but confirmed Antonio was back taking charge of training.

He told a reporter ahead of the game to Leicester this weekend: “Antonio is back. This morning on the pitch with us.

“He will have to take it easy for a bit. We were so happy to have him back on the training ground. He took time to hug every player.

“We didn’t speak about what he would do in the next match but he is back [with us]. We have time to be ready.”

On Hugo Lloris he added: “We are all sad to have lost Hugo but we should not forget that we have Fraser Forster whose behaviour is perfect and he has trained well and has pushed Hugo into training well too.”
