Romero release clause latest

Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Tottenham will activate Romero’s £40m permanent release clause.

The Argentine has become an integral part of Conte’s side and has pledged his allegiance to the club till 2026.

Romero started slowly in the Premier League but enjoyed a fantastic second half of the season, with Jamie Carragher lauding him as the ‘signing of the season’.

Forster deal close

A deal is near completion for experienced goalkeeper Fraser Forster whose contract is up at Southampton at the end of next month according to Fabrizio Romano.

A medical is expected to take place this week for the 34-year-old, replacing Pierluigi Gollini as backup keeper to Hugo Lloris.

Forster who has been capped by England 6 times will provide plenty of experience at the Champions League club.

West Brom’s Sam Johnstone was also a possible target, but the London club have decided to go with the former Celtic stopper.

Jesus battle with Arsenal

Tottenham will battle it out with rivals Arsenal for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.

The Premier League champions have just signed Erling Haaland, throwing the Brazilians future at the club in jeopardy.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the 25-year-old said “ About my future, it’s still uncertain. I have a contract with City and I have already expressed my desire to the City people and to my agent. I have in my head [a very clear idea of] what I want. And, on vacation, I [will] decide about my future.”
