Tottenham have been dealt another injury blow after a frustrating draw with Wolves.

Tottenham suffered yet another injury blow during their frustrating draw with Wolves on Sunday afternoon. Ange Postecoglou’s men looked all set to pick up three points to end a disappointing festive period, with Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson both on target to ensure a comeback after an early Wolves strike.

Spurs were minutes away from picking up the win, even with Son Heung-min missing a first-half penalty, but Strand Larsen fired in a superb leveller three minutes from time and from a seemingly impossible angle.

Tottenham are now winless in three as they continue to deal with a mountain of injuries, coming into this game with seven first-team injuries in all. There were concerns about Destiny Udogie’s hamstring, but he started against Wolves.

In the 50th minute, however, those concerns grew significantly when he pulled up clutching his hamstring. He had to be withdrawn, naturally, with Sergio Reguilon coming on in his place.

With so many injuries, especially defensively, it could be another crushing blow for Tottenham as they prepare for fixtures with Newcastle United in the Premier League on January 4 and Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on January 8.

Postecoglou is already without Wilson Odobert, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, but there is some good news in that Ben Davies could return after the turn of the year, while Djed Spence will also be eligible to return from his red card.

Udogie missed 12 games with a hamstring injury he picked up towards the end of last season, and it will be hoped this setback is not as severe. What is clear is that the full-back is very likely to miss at least a couple of games given how congested fixtures are at this time of the year.

Spence will be the obvious replacement, with Postecoglou likely to bring Davies into the heart of defence should the Welshman return for that clash with Newcastle.
