Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will hope that the pain midfielder Yves Bissouma was feeling during the game against Lion City Sailors is tempourary after limping out in the first half.

The Mali international completed the first half but went down during the warm-down that starters were going through and did not return for the second half which Spurs fans will hope was just precautionary.

The midfielder joined Tottenham last season and showed glimpses of his talent but injuries and form meant he just never really reached the height he was in at Brighton and Hove Albion which made him a hot cake for most Premier League clubs.

He picked up an ankle injury that ruled him out for six weeks close to the end of last season and returned for the final two games even though there was little he could do to change Tottenham’s eight place finish.

He’s had a good summer where he was back home in Mali before returning for pre-season with a smile on his face, an injury at this stage of pre-season will derail almost all the progress made and slow his momentum.

Tottenham lost their first pre-season game against West Ham and had the second one against Leicester cancelled due to torrential rain that made the pitch unplayable.

The game against Lion City Sailors is now only the second of their tour of Asia but not many players have shown consistency like Bissouma with the midfielder tipped by many to be a huge benefactor of Ange Postecoglou’s playing style.
