West Ham have seen a bid of £40million rejected for midfelder Conor Gallagher.

West Ham are pilling up the pressure and looking to beat London rivals Tottenham to the signing of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

David Moyes is a massive fan of the all-energy midfielder and has already seen a bid in the region of £40million rejected on Monday, but that is said to have just been testing the waters with the west London club looking to go back for him.

The Hammers pocketed £105million from the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal but that has also now created a void in the midfield that needs to be filled with many in east London seeing Gallagher as the ideal replacement.

Tottenham have already signed James Maddison from relegated Leicester City and Manor Solomon who spent last season impressing at Fulham on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

New manager Ange Postecoglou is looking to add more creativity, bite and energy to his team as he vows to adopt an attacking brand of football in north London, but with Spurs looking to do everything possible to hold on to Harry Kane this summer- any incoming will have to be carefully made.

Chelsea are open to selling the midfielder despite the fact that he has been one of the outstanding players in pre-season so far, scoring against Wrexham in the first game in North Carolina and following that up with another goal against Brighton in Philadelphia.
