'Been used to': Tottenham star sends stunning message to Ange Postecoglou ahead transfer window

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been speaking about his playing time while on international duty.

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg admits he's not played as much as he would like but is taking it all in the interest of the club as they look to maintain their strong start to the campaign.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has preferred the duo of Yves Bissouma now suspended for the Fulham game due to his sending off at Luton and the unassuming but effective Pape Matar Sarr for the midfield role.

That has left Pierre-Emile Højbjerg with a supporting role to play but he says these are things you have to go through as a player.

He told Ekstra Bladet: "We are in a very good position in the league, even though it is only a short time into the season, and we are making really good progress.

“So, it’s all about keeping up. I haven’t played as much as I’ve been used to, but it’s also something you take with you and have to accept and learn from.”

Højbjerg could have joined Fulham last summer but he turned down the chance to stay and fight for his spot, Spanish side Atletico Madrid came but could not get the deal done.

There are reports that Juventus are plotting a move for him in the January transfer window and it will be interesting to see if he sticks around or push for a move away.
