Tottenham predicted starting XI vs Coventry: two summer signings start, news formation and Romero rested

Tottenham have a fresh chance to get back to winning ways when they take on Coventry tomorrow night.

The marathon begins for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they embark on a gruelling schedule of seven games over the next 21 days. Squad management will be key, but two back-to-back league defeats have left the Australian manager with little room for error.

Last season, Spurs crashed out of the FA Cup in the early stages after heavy squad rotation, losing to Manchester City at a similar stage. This left them with only the league to focus on, where they rallied to finish in fifth place. Given the team's form and how last season panned out, Postecoglou will have less flexibility this time around and may need to use some first-team players, even against Championship side Coventry, with a tough Brentford fixture and the Europa League looming.

With Cristian Romero just returning from international duty in South America and playing in the North London derby, there’s a chance he could be rested, as well as Destiny Udogie at left-back, with Ben Davies expected to come in.

Pedro Porro is also likely to make way for Djed Spence, who was left out of the Europa League group stage squad, making this the perfect opportunity for him to get game time.

Pape Sarr, who didn’t start the North London derby, is also likely to feature, alongside new summer signings Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall. This match will be a significant test to see if these younger players can be trusted in higher-profile games.

"They're ready to play, and we're keen to get them some game time," Postecoglou said when asked about teenagers Gray, Bergvall, and Mikey Moore.

"That's why we brought them to the club. Wilson, who hasn't played much so far, Pape, and a lot of these guys, we're keen to get them playing because we're going to need them."

With that in mind, here is the team we anticipate will be fielded: Vicario; Spence, Dragusin, van de Ven, Davies; Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall; Werner, Solanke, Odobert.

Given the Tottenham boss has mainly favoured a 4-3-3 system- having Spence and Davies as full back might force him inot trying a 4-3-2-1 with Solanke at the top of the system.
