Ange Postecoglou confirms £25m Tottenham star is injured and won't play against Coventry
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has provided clarity on when midfielder Yves Bissouma will return to the field after picking up an injury during international duty. The midfielder, signed from Brighton in 2022 for £25 million, has shown glimpses of his enormous talent but has yet to consistently elevate his game to the next level.

Pressure is already mounting on Postecoglou to deliver a trophy for Spurs this season after they finished fifth in the league and crashed out of the League and FA Cup last season.
Spurs face Championship side Coventry tomorrow night, but Postecoglou confirmed that his star midfielder is still recovering, and the Coventry match will come too soon for him.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Postecoglou said: “Biss (Bissouma) is still not where we want him to be, but hopefully, there is a chance that he will be okay for the weekend.”

The defeat was particularly disappointing given that Arsenal were missing two of their most important players, Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice, which has somewhat dampened the good will that Postecoglou has enjoyed since his arrival.
Tottenham have not won a title since their League Cup triumph in 2008, and they will be desperate to get their hands on the League Cup again. Postecoglou reminded everyone of his track record, saying: "I'll correct myself – I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed."
