Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will not have the suspended Yves Bissouma with him when the international break ends but he expects to have Brennan Johnson who has missed the last two games but has withdrawn from international duty to get his fitness right.

Johnson picked up an injury on his first start for the club since making his £47m switch from Nottingham Forest and even though he was expected to be back for the game against Liverpool and Luton, the club preferred to not risk and give him all the time he needs to be ready.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed he was hoping to have him back for Fulham. He told reporters: “Brennan Johnson is close but he’s not quite 100% and with the international break we’re kind of hoping he’ll get that time during that to be available straight after.”

Spurs already have Manor Solomon ruled out for months with a knee injury he picked up in training, adding to the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic who have had to take a step back.

This season has been one remarkable one for the Lilywhites, with the best start to a top-flight campaign in the last 50 years that has seen them sign off for this international break on top of the league table.

The Fulham game at home provides Ange Postecoglou with another chance to solidify what has been an excellent start to the campaign and has got the fans dreaming.
