Tottenham manager Antonio Conte can longer hide his frustration over the tendon injury that is keeping forward Lucas Moura out of action, describing it as a ‘pity’.

Spurs return to Premier League action on Monday lunch time when they travel to Brentford hoping to get back to back Premier League wins after they ended the first part of the campaign with a win over Leeds United.

Rodrigo Bentancur will miss the game due to accumulation of yellow cards even though he would still not have been able to play due to a minor hamstring issue he’s been battling with since returning from the World Cup.

Lucas Moura who has barely played this season has also been battling a tendon issue which effectively ruled out his chances of staking a claim for a place in the Brazil team at the World Cup.

Conte hints he is far away from making a return as he is currently struggling to find a solution to his problem.

He told reporters ahead of Brentford: “He is struggling a lot to find a solution.

“It’s a difficult situation, because I have a good player in my squad, but he’s never available. It’s like you don’t have him.

“It’s a pity because we are talking about a good player, a good guy, but he is struggling a lot to solve this problem. I don’t know what will happen in the future about him.”

Conte also admitted his team’s preparation for the London derby has been disrupted by players returning late from the World Cup.

Hugo Lloris was a losing finalist with France while Cristian Romero had some time off celebrating in Argentina after winning the tournament with Lionel Messi.

Brazil forward Richalison also returned from the competition injured and is not likely to feature till mid January.
