Tottenham Hotspur are credited with a significant interest in Juventus striker Paulo Dybala, who is expected to depart the Italian giants when his contract expires this summer.

ESPN reports that managing director of football Fabio Paratici has been in touch with Dybala’s representatives and that ‘Tottenham made contact some time ago’.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all asked to be kept informed of developments, they say. There is also reported interest from sides in Spain and Italy, with Inter Milan one possible destination for the coveted 28-year-old.

Following protracted contract negotiations, the 32-cap Argentina international has been unable to agree an extension to his current deal at Stadium Juventus and a parting of the ways looks likely.

Dybala is finishing the season in good form to remind people of his abilities, with nine goals and five assists in 23 starts and two appearances from the bench in Serie A this season.

Indeed, the Argentine forward has three goals and two assists in his last 11 games - including one against Sassuolo last time out - as he completes the season with the Old Lady looking to improve on their fourth place position in Serie A currently, and aiming to secure Champions League football next term.

Max Allegri’s side brought in striker Dusan Vlahovic in January and the Bianoneri are believed to be looking to build around the Serbian forward in the years to come.

Tottenham held talks to sign Dybala in August 2019 when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge but failed to agree terms, with the deal falling apart over image rights at the time.

Spurs supporters may be hoping that it is a case of second time lucky in the chase for the former Palermo and Instituto attacker, but to recruit the player they will have to see off some major competition from home and abroad.
