Tottenham ask league-winning manager if he will replace Thomas Frank amid growing pressure
Tottenham are said to have enquired about the services of a new manager amid Thomas Frank’s struggles.
Tottenham are already said to be exploring new managerial options as Thomas Frank fights to keep his job. Spurs are on a torrid run, most recently losing to relegation-battling West Ham at home on Saturday, and they are now 14th in the table and six points off the European spots.

Sections of Spurs fans have booed Frank and the club’s ownership, and it doesn’t feel as though the situation is one that will be turned around quickly.
For now, it seems Frank will get more time, telling BBC Sport over the weekend that he believes he has he full support of the board. But according to reports in Spain, Spurs are already exploring options, with Fichajes claiming that both Tottenham and Manchester United have asked about Xavi Hernandez’s willingness to take over.
United have an interim manager until the end of the season in Michael Carrick, but indications suggest they will appoint a different full-time boss at the end of this season barring an extremely good run of form between now and then.
Xavi has been out of work since leaving Barcelona in 2024 and he has been in-demand since, but the Spaniard has been patiently waiting for the right opportunity.
Spurs are said to have enquired, but it would seem any appointment would be at the end of this season.
Frank responds to pressure
Asked about the boos he received over the weekend, Frank said: “I've probably had better times, it's probably not the best time of course, but I understand, I'm the man in charge. So, the blame will go to me. That's fair, no problem in that sense. As long as they are backing the players, doing everything they can, to support them and drive them forward, that's what we do, and we will keep going forward.”
Asked to give his case for why he deserves more time, the Dane added: “If you're not winning enough, we know you will not get enough support from the fans, but when we're winning, it will change, when we start winning again. Which we will do. I'm not in doubt of that. I think also you can look a little bit at the performances.
“Let's say the Bournemouth and the Villa and this game here, if the players stop running, or stop doing anything, or not working hard, and we are not the team that's closest to winning, then you can say okay. I think the team is working very hard. And I still think, and I know it sounds a little bit crazy, that we are close to something very good, than further away. I think you all saw the game today, we could easily have won this one 2-1.
“I think it's no excuses, but also the reason we're a little bit down to the bare bones with players, and we also need some of the offensive players to score a goal or two. All that is difficult for me to do like that and click with a finger, but I can promise that I'm sitting here, giving everything, every single day. I feel the trust from everyone and there's only one way, we need to keep going."
