Not that Spurs are missing him as they have won two and drawn one of their first three games in the Premier League.

Reguilón was signed by Jose Mourinho and despite a promising start to life in north London, he has failed to impress at wing-back, leading to a situation where he has to look for minutes elsewhere or risk being frozen out this season.

According to Italian publication Gazzetta.it, the Spain international prefers a move to Lazio more than playing at Nottingham Forest due to the large number of Spanish players at the club.

The only thing holding up the move is that the player is on around £3m a year and Lazio want Spurs to pay a large chunk of his wages.

There is also an outstanding issue of an obligation to buy which is being considered  by both clubs, but Nottingham Forest are willing to meet Tottenham’s terms, with Lazio running out of time to make the deal happen.

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has reportedly told the Lazio board he is very interested in Reguilón but only Immobile and Milinkovic earn as much as the Spurs star and adding another high earner on the wage bill is considers a risk at the moment.

Gazzetta.it also say Spurs have told Lazio they have only limited time as they look to balance their books and trim the squad.

Antonio Conte has brought in Ivan Perisic to compete with Ryan Sessegnon for the left wing-back spot which has ultimately left Reguilón in the cold.
