Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eager to offload Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent deal in the upcoming transfer window. The midfielder was given the green light to head out the exit door on a temporary basis in January of this year and remains out on loan currently at Villarreal.

However, Football Insider have reported that his parent club are ‘willing’ to sell him for good in a couple of months time. The report suggests an offer of around £18million will be enough to lure him away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs swooped to sign the Argentina international on an initial loan deal back in 2019 before signing him a six months later. He has made 84 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side and has chipped in with nine goals.

He has slipped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte, hence why he was shipped out on loan, and a departure would free up funds this winter. His contract expires in the summer of 2025 but it looks like he won’t be seeing that through.

Prior to his move to England, Lo Celso played for the likes of PSG, Rosario Central and Real Betis. He has been a key player for Villarreal over recent times and has played 35 times for the La Liga club, scoring twice and assisting once since his return to Spain.
