Tottenham player ratings gallery: three score 4/10 and plenty land 5/10 as Antonio Conte is sent off in draw

Drama as Tottenham is denied a late winner that would have sealed progression to the next round of the Champions League.

A much improved second half performance saw Tottehman draw 1-1 with Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Sporting had taken the game to Spurs with Enfield born Marcus Edwards, who started his career at Tottenham before being let go opening the scoring for the visitors. Sporting continued to dominate proceedings in the first half and should have gone two up before the interval- but Spurs had their time in the sun with a splendid second half performance and will feel they should have taken all three points and sealed progression.

Antonio Conte sent out the same team and their response was quite impressive with sharp passing and pressing that we have come to expect from the Tottenham Hotspur side under Antonio Conte. The pressure and intensity would pay off late in the game with Rodrigo Bentancur heading home the equaliser with just seven minutes to the end.

The mood changed and the home fans spurred their team on- and with barely the last kick of the game, Harry Kane thought he had got the winning goal after finishing off a low header from substitute Emerson Royal- but VAR intervened after a long check to rule out the goal.  Spurs boss Antonio Conte visibly upset with the long check and the ultimate outcome was sent off for a comment he made to the referee and will now miss the away game to Marseille next week.

Here is how we rated everyone of them out there today.
