Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi. The Premier League side have been credited with an interest in the Italy international.

According to a report by Il Resto del Carlino, Spurs have ‘watched’ the Serie A man in action but aren’t the only Premier League side in the frame. Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

Antonio Conte has the opportunity to bolster his ranks in the upcoming January transfer window ahead of the second-half of the season. His side are currently 4th in the league table and have gone into the World Cup break following a 4-3 win over Leeds United at home.

Frattesi won’t be in Qatar after Italy failed to qualify. Nevertheless, he has four caps under his belt and will be hoping to play a key role in future tournaments.

The 23-year-old could be seen by Spurs as a decent long-term option for them in the heart of midfield. He has been with Sassuolo since joining them from Roma as a youngster and has risen into their first-team.

He has had loan spells away at Ascoli, Empoli and Monza to gain experience so far in his career but has now made 55 appearances in all competitions for his current club, chipping in with eight goals. Frattesi saw ex-teammate Gianluca Scamacca leave for West Ham in the last window so could he follow him to England now?
