Ange Postecoglou is set to make a big call following latest injury news against Qarabag

Tottenham Hotspur are back in action just three days after beating Azerbaijani club Qarabag FK 3-0 in the Europa League. Ange Postecoglou’s side will meet Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday as they seek a much needed win, with the Australian head coach beginning to feel the mounting pressure.

However, as they face the Red Devils, a side also hunting down their third win of the campaign, the Lilywhites could do so without their club captain and talisman Son Heung-Min. The South Korea international was forced to come off the pitch during his side’s midweek win, with little yet known of his condition.

Speaking to the media after full-time, Postecoglou said of his club captain: “I haven’t spoken to him yet. He said he felt a bit tired, but I haven’t spoken to him or the medical team yet.”

With that in mind, here is LondonWorld’s predicted XI to take on Manchester United:

Predicted XI to face Man United:

GK - Guglielmo Vicario

Made a string of impressive saves in Spurs’ win over Qarabag and is the undeniable number one for Postecoglou.

RB - Pedro Porro

A steadfast fixture in the line-up. The 25-year-old Spaniard will have enjoyed the European rest on Thursday night and should be in fine form to contend with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen.

CB - Cristian Romero

Another defender who was rested against Qarabag. Barring a late illness or injury, there is little chance that Postecoglou will not use the in-demand centre-back who could well receive plenty of transfer interest in January.

CB - Micky Van de Ven

A short turn around for the Dutch star who will once again make the starting line-up after defending superbly for his side this week, despite being a man down.

LB - Destiny Udogie

The left-back was set to be rested but the red card to Dragusin forced him back into action against Qarabag. He’s expected to feature from the start on Sunday.

CM - Rodrigo Bentancur

After only coming on for the last 20 minutes of play in the Europa League, Bentancur will have benefited from the fresh legs and is set to make the starting XI over injury-returning Yves Bissouma.

The Swedish midfielder was crucial to keeping Spurs in the game when they went down to ten-men and assisted Pape Sarr’s goal to help double the lead straight after the break.

LM - James Maddison

The England midfielder produced a Man of the Match display for his club when taking on Brentford and will continue to pair up with Solanke this weekend.

RW - Brennan Johnson

Johnson, who scored his side’s opening goal r against Qarabag, will not miss such an important clash as he continues to prove he can continue to deliver when needed.

LW - Timo Werner

Club captain Son could be out of action after he was forced off the pitch in the 71st minute of his side’s 3-0 win over Qarabag FK. While it is not yet known as to the full extent of Son’s condition, Werner may be given his first start since recovering from his own injury.

STR - Dominic Solanke

The striker has been in fine form since moving to London from Bournemouth. After scoring once again for Spurs in the Europa League, Postecoglou will hope the Englishman can just as easily break through the United defence.
