The Tottenham player ratings from their Europa League game against Qarabag.

Tottenham opened their Europa League campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win over Qarabag. The win was especially significant for Ange Postecoglou, who lost Radu Drăgușin early in the game. The Australian manager had to adjust his team, but even with 10 men, Spurs were the better side and created the best chances.

This is the kind of performance the Lilywhites manager would be proud of, given his team had to show a lot of character to secure the win.

Here’s how the Lilywhites players rated:

Guglielmo Vicario – 7

Helped his team with a brilliant last-minute challenge in the first half. Always on top of his game and made some smart saves.

Archie Gray – 7

Showed a lot of promise in what was his first European game.

Radu Drăgușin – 4

A really silly sending-off that let his team down. Very clumsy.

Micky van de Ven – 7

Covered the defensive line well.

A strong showing. Alert and solid throughout.

Ben Davies – 7

Used his experience wisely. Covered the ground well and supported his teammates.

Pape Matar Sarr – 8

Not quite at the level he was last season, but showed glimpses of his quality. Scored a good goal for Tottenham’s second.

Conceded a penalty just after his side took the lead. Let off the hook.

Lucas Bergvall – 6

Full of energy, running, and covering spaces.

Brennan Johnson – 8

Scored again. It feels like that Arsenal game was the spark he needed.

Dominic Solanke – 7

Scored a good goal to seal the win. Would have been disappointed had he missed the chance.

Son Heung-min – 6

The Spurs captain stretched the backline well, though he didn't score.Hopefully his injury is nothing serious.

Came on for Brennan Johnson and did his job.

Quiet but effective when he came on.
