Tottenham Hotspur: Six moments you might have missed from Kulusevski's turn to Vicario's all-action release

As it has been all season, Spurs were straight out of the blocks against Fulham in their bid to return to the top of the league.

Smart finishes from Heung-Min Son and James Maddison topped off a supremely dominant home performance, and it could have been far more. Richarlison, in particular, is working so hard without an ounce of luck.

In the first half there was a Fulham threat on the break, particularly from the roundly booed almost-Spurs-player Willian, and the game opened up later on, but the result was never really in doubt.

Italy international Destiny Udogie is smart, strong and skillful - and, as must always be mentioned, only 20.

In this game he found space to 'invert' far more than Porro on the right and was instrumental in almost everything in the first half. He was substituted after 55 minutes to a fully deserved standing ovation.

Vicario's catch and release

Guglielmo Vicario has turned out to be a stunning signing when more expensive options could have been preferred.

Fingertip saves will win you fans but after 20 minutes he caught a cross that wasn't straight forward and rolled the ball out to Kulusevski as he fell, in a John Woo-directed single motion.

Deki's turn and megs

Spurs started sloppily in the second half but Kulusevski pulled off a gorgeous turn on the right, using his strength to hold off Antonee Robinson.

Freed, he fed it to Son, who laid off to Richarlison, who spooned it high over the bar.

Kulusevski had yet another lively game and might have scored had he been more selfish in the box. The fan-love was only heightened by a nutmeg of Willian in the second half.

Pape's recovery header

While Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg came in for the suspended Yves Bissouma, and did a solid job, the young dynamic Pape Matar Sarr continued to show his worth.

He's showing the intelligence to drop in for the inverting full-backs and he appeared from nowhere to make a recovery header after 55 minutes in a moment of danger.

The young Senegalese international seemed to take a knock after an hour and was replaced by Oliver Skipp, who himself would have been hoping to cement a place this season but instead has found himself behind a fully operational midfield from day one.

Chest-thumping defensive muscle

The macho love-in of the Romero/van de Ven partnership has been one of the many unexpected immediate successes of the season.

Whether it is Romero sliding in for a last-ditch tackle on William or the Dutchman hitting the accelerator and holding off the striker, the pair are utterly at ease in each other's company.
