Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has reportedly been offered the chance to double his wages at AC Milan, with the club aware of interest from Tottenham. The 26-year-old has scored three goals in the Champions League for Milan and has also found the net in the league, with sources claiming that he is a player Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou admires.
Tottenham are looking for a midfielder who brings European experience and can add goals to their team, especially after James Maddison struggled in the second half of last season and at the start of this campaign. Calciomercato has reported that Spurs are eyeing the Milan midfielder, as are Manchester City, who are also interested. However, Milan, who have admitted they are becoming a selling club, want to keep Reijnders after seeing his invaluable contribution to the team this season.

Hide AdThere has been a reputation that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy doesn't fully back his manager, but since appointing Postecoglou, they have brought in players the manager has requested, including £60 million signing English striker Dominic Solanke as the replacement for Harry Kane. The aim is to build a team that can compete for the Premier League title. Even though they started last season with great promise, their challenge faded when some key players got injured and others were suspended at crucial stages of the campaign.
The January transfer window is historically very quiet compared to the summer one, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will continue their pursuit of Reijnders or turn their attention to other candidates, now that Milan are looking to offer him a new deal and are determined to keep him.
The Weekend Opportunity
The Lilywhites are back home in the Premier League after their 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray in the Europa League last night. They will hope to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Ipswich Town in North London. They could end this stretch of games in 5th place if they win, provided other results go their way.
