Tottenham's injury list continues to pile up with striker Richarlison now confirming that he will have to undergo surgery hours after the defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Brazilian said after ther game: “I’ve had health problems," he said. "I’ve already spoken to the doctors and soon I would do surgery on my pubis. I’ve been suffering, fighting for my national team and my club for eight months and haven’t been taking care of myself.

“I think it’s time to rest, to stop for a second. I’ll think about it in the next few days and soon I will do what is best for me.”

Tottenham also lost James Maddison to an injury even though manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed it was nothing serious and just precautionary.

He said: "He got a knock on the ankle. We were down one man already. It made sense to make a couple of changes at that point."

However, the biggest loss will be that of Dutch defender Micky van de Ven who looked to have picked up a serious hamstring injury and will now now have to be assessed.

The Tottenham boss said: "It's too early but looking at Micky you're thinking it's a pretty significant one so you'd assume he'll be out for a little while,"

Tottenham will take on Wolves in an attempt to return to winning ways before hosting Aston Villa in the Premier League.
