Tottenham vs Brighton early injury news as 6 ruled out and 5 doubts
All the latest injury news surrounding Tottenham and Brighton ahead of Sunday’s final round of Premier League fixtures.
Tottenham will conclude their season on Sunday when they face Brighton. It has been a celebratory week for Spurs, who won the Europa League on Wednesday night and celebrated their achievement with their fans on Friday.

The title win means Spurs will qualify for next season’s Champions League, bailing themselves out after a disastrous Premier League campaign this season. This weekend’s opponents Brighton looked as though they might be headed for Europe, but rivals Crystal Palace won the FA Cup, causing a reshuffle of the European positions, and the Seagulls can no longer get in. Here we round up the latest injury news surrounding both teams ahead of the final day clash.
Solly March - Out
March is out for the season with a knee injury. Hurzeler confirmed at the time: “Unfortunately, he will be out for the season. It's not a new injury. It's just some moments you have to repair something, [or] you have to clean something in the knee. It was a small surgery [to the one that was reconstructed]. Everyone is very convinced that he will be back in really good shape for pre-season.”
Ferdi Kadiaglu - Doubt
Hurzeler said Kadiaglu could return this season, saying: “The big word today is positivity... A lot of injured players are at the end stage of their rehab, and they start training next week. There’s a chance, yes [he could play again this season].”
James Milner - Out
Hurzeler initially said of Milner’s hamstring injury: “James is doing rehab on the pitch, so he's getting closer... I'm not sure if we'll see him this season, but it's a nice process that he's going through.” Since then, it has become apparent that the veteran will be out for the season.
Georginio Rutter - Doubt
Hurzeler has said: “Georginio is also very close, so hopefully, he will be back next with the team. There's a small chance that he can be an option for the last game.”
Jason Steele - Doubt
Steele has been dealing with an injury issue and could return here.
Tariq Lamptey - Doubt
Lamptey has a knee injury and is a doubt, but he is likely to miss out.
Dejan Kulusevski - Out
Kulusevski is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery. A statement confirmed: “We can confirm that Dejan Kulusevski suffered an injury to his right patella in our Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace last weekend. Following further specialist consultation, the midfielder has undergone surgery today (Wednesday) and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately.” Postecoglou added on the injury blow: "It’s obviously disappointing news. Initially we thought it wasn’t too serious because obviously the medical team were worried about how the knee was structurally, but it seemed pretty good. But then it kind of blew up a day after and so we knew there was an issue there. He’s had surgery and it will put him out at least for a few months."
Lucas Bergvall - Out
Postecoglou has previously said when asked if Bergvall will be back before the Europa League final: “Yeah, that is unlikely. If we had another two weeks, potentially he could. I am sure he will be trying, I am sure Madders will be trying, mate, just to get the strip on. Unfortunate for both of those guys, but that has been our season. Nothing has run smoothly. I am sure there will be parts of themselves disappointed they are not part of this most important part, but they have been so integral to us getting here.”
James Maddison - Out
Maddison recently suffered a knee injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season. The Spurs boss said: “Madders from the first leg, so he's out. He'll miss the rest of this season and it’s disappointing for him. I'm disappointed for him because he's been a real catalyst for us. He'll miss out but that's been the story of our season.”
Radu Dragusin - Out
Dragusin is out for the rest of the season and likely a chunk of next term with an ACL injury. Postecoglou confirmed at the time: “Radu underwent surgery today following his ACL injury. That procedure has now been completed, and the centre-back will now commence with his recovery before beginning the rehab process.”
