Tottenham are vying to win all six home matches in top-fight football for the first since 1964/1965 season when they host Newcastle United at N17 in the Premier League.

Antonio Conte is looking for a swift response from the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United and will be hoping that the home crowd and his players rise to the occasion. Newcastle United is a club on-form and come into the game unbeaten in their last five outings, which include thrashing Fulham and Brentford along the way.

Eddie Howe’s side is also aiming for European football next season and have lost only once this season, that was the closely fought defeat to Liverpool earlier in the campaign- and they now have the best defence in the Premier League coming into the game.

They will also be boosted with the knowledge that they have won 10 games at Spurs, their joint-best opponents on the road, West Ham being the other side they have won most away to. Tottenham though have also lost just once in the last 10 meetings between them, drawing twice and winning seven.

Antonio Conte will be without Richarlison who has a calf problem and Dejan Kulusevski who made a bright start to life since joining Tottenham in January but is now missing his seventh game with a thigh issue. There is some positive news though, with Emerson Royal now available after serving his three match ban for the straight red card he received against Arsenal the other day.

The Tottenham stadium has been kind to the Lillywhites and a win today will be quite historic and a clear sign of the strides they are making under the Italian manager Antonio Conte a year into tenure.
