Everton star Richarlison has already offered Tottenham Hotspur some hope they can secure his signature over the coming weeks.

The Brazilian international has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs in recent weeks and Spurs are believed to be leading the race for his services.

There was a further boost for Antonio Conte after his former club Chelsea looked to move on from their interest in the talented forward and turned their attention towards a deal for Leeds United star Raphinha.

The Blues are believed to be close to an agreement for the former Sporting Lisbon and Rennes forward - although La Liga giants Barcelona are also said to be interested.

Regardless of the outcome of the battle to sign Raphinha, Spurs are pressing ahead with their bid to sign Richarlison and talks are believed to be well underway.

The 25-year-old has become a firm favourite at Goodison Park and played a key role in helping Frank Lampard’s side avoid a first ever relegation into the Championship last season.

Richarlison confirmed he has held talks with Lampard and stopped short of ruling out a move away from Merseyside this summer.

Speaking to the Brazilian media recently, he said: “When we talk about changing clubs it’s a little bit complicated, due to the history I have there at Everton.

“The fans like me a lot. And when there are these talks about changing clubs, I feel like... that I don’t have anything to say. But I made myself clear to the board, I have talked with Frank Lampard as well. He knows what I want.

“So, no matter what happens, it won’t disturb me at the national team, it won’t be a problem at the World Cup. I am totally focused at football so, no matter where I am, I will be playing my football with joy.

“We will see. Let’s wait this month. I am focused here at the national team now and let’s wait this month, then talk with my staff and (Everton’s) board to see what they will decide.”

Spurs are believed to have been rebuffed with a ‘package deal’ for Richarlison and Toffees team-mate Anthony Gordon earlier this week - but their determination to land the former remains very much alive.
