Everton winger Anthony Gordon is reportedly ‘open’ to a move to Tottenham Hotspur - but will not hand in a transfer request to force a move away from Goodison Park.

Spurs are believed to be in talks with Gordon’s Toffees team-mate Richarlison and were said to have enquired about making the England Under-21 star part of a ‘package deal’.

The enquiry was batted away by Everton, with Sky Sports reporting the Merseyside club had no intention of parting with one of their breakthrough stars of last season.

Spurs maintain an interest in Gordon and Football London have now suggested the 21-year-old would been willing to discuss a move.

The report states the Toffees starlet is keen to test his talent in the Champions League but would not resort to submitting a transfer request to his boyhood club.

Concerns over Everton’s financial situation have led to several players being linked with a move this summer - but Toffees manager Frank Lampard will be eager to retain the services of Gordon, who he believes can become ‘an absolutely huge player’ for the club.

Speaking about the young winger last month, the former Chelsea and England midfielder told Sky Sports: “I’ve been really impressed. He’s becoming more of a man, more of a leader with every game, with every day. His dedication and talent is huge.

“His feeling for the club, to bring that across at such a young age is something pretty special. I love working with him, love him as a player.

“There are things he wants to improve and he can improve and that’s absolutely normal in terms of development. But what he’s doing for us at the minute, he’s an absolutely huge player.”

Hopes over Everton’s move for Richarlison seemed to receive a boost earlier this week after Chelsea’s interest in the Brazilian seemed to wane following their bid for Leeds United star Raphinha.
