Referee confirmed for Liverpool vs Tottenham as official Jurgen Klopp said made 'mistake' appointed
Tottenham face Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League as they look to drum up some momentum.
Tottenham are back in action on Sunday when they face Liverpool in the Premier League. Spurs are undoubtedly prioritising the Europa League at this point having reached the semi-finals, where they will face Bodo/Glimt for the right to face Athletic Club or Manchester United at San Mames, in Bilbao.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have had a torrid time of things in the Premier League this season, and they are currently down in 16th position, with Postecoglou hanging on for dear life.
Spurs can still qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, and so many of their eggs will be in that basket, but they also want to avoid being on the wrong side of history, still needing seven more points to surpass their lowest-ever points tally of 44.
As for Liverpool, they will be Premier League champions this season, and their main motivation for the rest of the campaign will surely be to keep up their superb form and try to learn anything else they can along the way to set up another big season of next.
Nevertheless, this should be an entertaining encounter, as they so often are when Tottenham and Liverpool meet, and we now know who the referee will be for this one. Tom Bramall has been confirmed as the referee, and he doesn’t have much experience with either of these teams having only been promoted to Select Group One in 2022.
In fact, Bramall has only refereed one Liverpool and one Tottenham game previously. His sole Spurs game came in 2023 when Tottenham beat Portsmouth 1-0 in the FA Cup.
The Liverpool game involved much more controversy, with Bramall refereeing an early-season clash with Bournemouth last season that saw the Reds win 3-1, but they did see Alexis Mac Allister sent off. That was seen as a very controversial decision, and Jurgen Klopp said after the game: "It's harsh, this shouldn't have been a red card. It's a mistake and the punishment of playing 40 minutes with 10 men is already punishment enough. We have to talk to the authorities.
"There was contact but there is contact in a game all the time. If he gives a yellow card nobody would say, 'by the way you need to have another look at that'. The amount of times I've already been asked about it shows it is worth discussing again, which we will probably do. I asked Macca and he said 'he touched him, but not really'. If we have a list of points of what you need to give a red card, besides contact there's no other box ticked."
The red card was later rescinded upon appeal, with an FA statement confirming at the time: "An independent regulatory commission has removed Alexis Mac Allister's three-match suspension following a claim of wrongful dismissal.”
Liverpool don’t have great memories of Bramall in charge, but they did still win that game, so it did really only come down to one decision. Tottenham will be hoping for a similar slip-up on Sunday. The assistants for this game are Simon Bennett and Dan Robathan, the fourth official is Chris Kavanagh, and the VAR chief is Craig Pawson.
