‘So poor’...
Former Newcastle United striker Shearer delivered his verdict on Spurs’ showing on Match of the Day
“Not many times we will say it this season but they were really poor in the final third. Yes, they did sit back and try and hit Arsenal on the break, but their final pass or touch were so poor. They got into a few good positions.
“Arsenal were superb and deserved to win the game. Son didn’t have one touch in the box, Harry Kane had two and one was the penalty.”

“Stupid challenge on a frustrating afternoon and the referee was right in showing the red card.”
Spurs’ loss to Arsenal is their first of the new campaign and they will be eager to bounce back from it quickly.
Next up for them is a Champions League away trip to Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday evening.
They then return to league action next weekend with an away trip to Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls go into that one on the back of their 3-3 draw away at Liverpool.
