Speaking on Match of the Day, pundit Ashley Williams has heaped praise on ‘sensational’ Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane. The England striker has made an impressive start to the new Premier League season and has scored nine league goals already.

He helped his side beat Everton 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday and scored their first goal from the penalty spot. Midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg then added the second for the home side.

Kane caught the eye of ex-Swansea City and Everton defender Ashley Williams who said:

“He was sensational. It was classic Harry Kane. He gave (James) Tarkowski and (Conor) Coady a really tough afternoon. I have had many of those against him myself! He had 13 touches in the Everton box which is the most he has had in the opposition box since January. He was involved in everything good. He’s lively, he’s bright and he wants goals, as always. He can make goals as well.”

Williams also provided an insight into playing against Kane: “He’s not verbal with you. What you don’t get the picture of by watching him on TV is just his presence, how big and strong he is. If he’s holding it up it is tough, you can’t get around him. He’s a classic number nine striker.”

Spurs are back in action on Wednesday night away at Manchester United as they look to build on their victory over the Toffees. Antonio Conte’s side are currently 3rd in the table behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

They then have a home clash against Newcastle United next weekend. The London club are yet to lose in the league on home soil this term.
